Black Phosphate will develop less white and red rust when compared to Bonderized steel that's installed in an exposed application and without any paint.

There is a coating that's applied on top of the galvanized substrate that's called InterCoat ChemGuard. This coating is designed to enhance the zinc performance on galvanized steel. We've done testing that will show the difference between the two.

How Much Does It Cost?

• Cost about the same as Bonderized steel
• About 20% less expensive than Kynar® painted panels

Pros:

• Better durability and will develop less white and red rust versus Bonderized
• Less color variation versus Bonderized
• Better cut edge protection
• Beautiful black zinc appearance

Cons:

• Black Phosphate® is NOT a paint lock material that's designed to be post painted
• It's not gray like Bonderized
• Handle with gloves to avoid finger prints
• No warranty
• Not a painted finish
